Governmental Affairs Experience
Greg V. Etter, international arbitrator, has extensive foreign and domestic governmental affairs experience. As Vice President at Newmont Mining Corporation and Vice President and General Counsel at Battle Mountain Gold Company, Greg’s responsibilities included government affairs. At Battle Mountain, he obtained, in less than sixty days, Congressional legislation specifically overturning an adverse decision of the Solicitor of the United States Department of the Interior. While at Battle Mountain, he was also responsible for the affairs of Crown Butte Resources, a Toronto Stock Exchange listed company, where he successfully resolved all aspects of the controversial New World matter, obtaining sixty-five million dollars from the United States. Greg has negotiated numerous agreements with domestic and foreign governments, including Contracts of Work in Indonesia and Joint Ventures in Bolivia. Most recently, Greg served as General Manager of the Upper Guadalupe River Authority and as a consultant to a member of the 69th Texas Legislature.
